After blending, the whisky is initially matured in standard oak casks and Japanese cedar (Yoshino sugi) casks. Bottega del Fumatore

It is then finished (additional ageing) in casks made from sakura wood, i.e., Japanese cherry tree wood. This final finish is what gives the whisky its name. WhiskyBrother
